Shopify Shipping adds UPS for US Stores

Fast on the heels of bringing DHL Express for Intl. shipping, Shopify announced today they would be adding UPS to Shopify Shipping for basic store owners. Previously the only option for basic store merchants was to get carrier calculated rates through USPS.

The new partnership amounts to as much as 52% off UPS list rates, specifically for merchants shipping heavier packages. Shopify is also picking up the surcharges during the peak holiday shipping windows of the 2017 Holiday season, which is an additional $0.27 per shipment. That is a huge savings for merchants selling high volume, low margin items. Customers can select from Next Day, Two Day, and Three Day Guranteed Delivery in the US.
